When the admin user for the Management by Statistics software forgets their password or there is a change in personnel, there is no way for this password to be changed within the Management by Statistics software as the admin cannot sign in.
The procedure below was created so that the admin user's password can be reset securely.
1.
Go to the computer where the Mastertech Database Manager is installed. If you do not know which computer this is, open the Management by Statistics program on any computer and look at the bottom right corner of the program window. The server name will be displayed near the right side of the status bar, as shown in the screenshot below.
The server name in the screen shot is underlined in red for illustration.
2.
Log into the server computer with the same Windows user that was used to install the database manager. Other Windows users on the server may not have enough rights to access the Database Manager software.
3.
Start the Database Manager by double clicking its icon,
If you do not see the Database Manager icon on the desktop go to the Start menu->All Programs->Mastertech Database Manager->Mastertech Database Manager.
If an error message is displayed indicating that you do not have access rights, you need to return to step 2 and log into the computer with the correct Windows administrator user.
